thanks Mom

God saw a faithful young woman who loved Him.

It was a normal day. She was doing what she did, getting water for the evening's needs. She was interrupted by someone else's need, a stranger who was thirsty. She was willing and gracious; it was normal to share. Beautiful, a virgin, respectful, she was also quick and thorough in taking the initiative to water the ten camels as well, seeking no reward. She was a hard worker, to the end. She was simply being herself, a godly woman on an ordinary, boring day in Haran.

The young maiden's beauty, inner and outer, were not normal. Her faithfulness in the small things had prepared her for big things. When invited to link her future with huge unknowns, in fact with God's purposes for Isaac, she said "yes" decisively. Because she said yes to God's will, we know her today - even as a part of the plan of redemption! She lived in surrender to God. She desired His will above her own plans. She waited, not knowing His timing. And God blessed His hand maiden Rebekah.
